Pump Maintenance and Preventive Measures
It is best to have the pump, the pump float on/off switch and alarm float evaluated periodically. The pump on/off switch and the alarm float is used to sense high wastewater levels in the tank and/or if the pump is malfunctioning. Once the wastewater reaches the alarm float in the pump tank an alarm will sound. While you can silence the alarm at the power source, it is best to have the pump evaluated to prevent sewage backup into the home.
