However, pumps that use pump and alarm floats to sense the level of wastewater in the pump tank let you know when the pump tank is getting full and if the pump is malfunctioning. Once the wastewater reaches the alarm float in the pump tank an alarm will sound. While you can silence the alarm at the power source, it is best to have the pump evaluated to prevent sewage back up into the home.
